Changes to South Yarra Market

Hi SYM followers,

South Yarra Market has decided to close the market until it re-launches on 3rd December and will then operate monthly, on the first Saturday of every month.

At the re-launch we will be hosting some awesome bands and dj’s (as shown on the poster below) and will be selling beers/hot dogs and partying all day & night until around 1am. Stallholders can choose to either stay late and sell their goods or pack up their stall at around 6pm. We will then run the market like this each month.

We anticipate that creating more of a ‘party’ vibe will generate a lot more interest in the market and get a number of people down throughout the day not just for the bands and beers, but for the atmosphere of having a cool market where people can chill and have a good time, and find some gems from our stallholders.

Going forward we plan to make SYM a venue to showcase some great new up-and-coming bands whilst also showcasing our stallholders independently designed items and second hand goods.

Spaces are limited for the re-launch so book your spot now to lock it in! Once you’ve booked in spread the word and share the poster around, and get your friends down for what is going to be a massive day and night at SYM!

Love South Yarra Market

LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS!!!

Change to Payment System

From 1 October 2011, South Yarra Market will be changing its payment system, whereby all stallholders will need to pay online for the dates booked, once they are approved for the market.  Also, the stall fee will now be a flat $50 per day for all bookings.

Once you have paid for your booking/s, you must ensure that you attend the market for the dates booked, as there will be no refunds. If you cannot make it to the market, we suggest that you get a friend or relative to work the stall for you.

Details on how to pay for your booking/s will be emailed to you if you are successful in your application.

Thanks for your support and we hope to see you at the market soon!

SYM CELEBRATES IT’S 1 MONTH ANNIVERSARY!

So SYM has celebrated it’s one month anniversary and would like to thank everyone who has been involved in creating what is building to be a permanent fixture in the South Yarra area!

We are changing our structure slightly by altering our opening times to 12pm - 5pm every Saturday and are employing even more flyer girls to to make sure EVERYONE on Chapel St knows about, and heads down to SYM :)

We have just put our dates up for August, and are implementing a new booking system to make it easy for anyone with quality fashion, art or music related product to be involved in the SYM.

Anyway it’s time for us to head down to the butchers and stock up on more gourmet bangers and cider for another fun weekend at the market!

secretgardencandles asked: Can you sell handmade things?

That depends on what the ‘things’ are :) SYM is a Fashion (both new and vintage), Music (old vinyl, music instruments etc) and Art (paintings, sculptures, handmade creations). So perhaps you would fit under the Art banner? If you submit an application we can access if your products will be a good fit with our market

artboxdiary asked: Can I sell vintage clothes?

Yes we welcome quality vintage clothes at South Yarra Market

Just ignore the bit where they refer to us as an ‘arts & crafts’ market………..

South Yarra Market in Melbourne Weekly

Just ignore the bit where they refer to us as an ‘arts & crafts’ market………..

If you manifest a psuedo sense of self worth by wearing designer outfits worth five thousand dollars, hide your face with over-sized sunglasses and enjoy sitting at sterile cafes devoid of any substance on a busy corner, on display like characters in some tragic soap opera, talking obnoxiously loud in shrill tones whilst comparing the cock sizes of the respective football stars you slept with last night, it’s probably best you stay in your small unimportant world. If that sounds like a nightmare to you, come check out the markets this weekend and score yourself a bargain.

jenesaispaspourquoi asked: Where exactly is the location of the market?

Just added a location page :)
